Who we are

Youth Connect Services (“Youth Connect,” “we,” “us”) is a [not-for-profit organization / registered charity, no. XXXXX] based in Toronto, Ontario. We help young people, especially youth from economically disadvantaged and minority communities, build skills through training, counselling, mentoring, outreach and networking.

These Terms apply to your use of youthconnectservices.ca (the “website”) and to registering for or taking part in our programs, workshops and events.

Using this website

By using the website, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the website.

You agree not to:

• use the website for anything unlawful or harmful;
• try to access parts of the website or our systems you aren't allowed into;
• upload viruses or anything designed to disrupt the website;
• submit false information about yourself or anyone else.

Young participants

Many of the people we serve are under 18. If you are under the age of majority in Ontario (18), some programs may require a parent or guardian to review these Terms and give consent before you take part. We'll tell you when that's needed during registration.

If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us before sending us any personal information.

Programs and registration

• Program details, dates, locations and eligibility may change. We'll let registered participants know about important changes as early as we can.
• Spaces may be limited. Registering doesn't guarantee a place until we confirm it.
• Certificates (for example, from our Leadership and Development or Customer Service programs) are issued when a participant meets the program's attendance and completion requirements.
• Employment programs connect you with opportunities, but we can't guarantee a job, interview or specific outcome.
• If a program has a fee, the fee, payment terms and refund policy will be shown before you register.

Respectful conduct

Our programs are built to be safe, welcoming and culturally respectful. In our programs, events and online spaces, everyone is expected to:

• treat participants, mentors, staff and volunteers with respect;
• not harass, bully, threaten or discriminate against anyone, including on any ground protected by the Ontario Human Rights Code;
• keep what others share in group or counselling settings private;
• not attend under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

We may remove someone from a program or event if their behaviour puts others at risk or goes against these expectations.

Our content

The text, logos, images, program materials and other content on this website belong to Youth Connect Services or are used with permission. You may view, download and print content for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don't copy, sell or republish it without our written permission.

Information on the website, including financial literacy and career guidance, is general in nature. It isn't professional legal, financial, medical or mental health advice. For advice about your own situation, please speak with a qualified professional.

Links to other sites

We sometimes link to partner organizations, employers and resources. We don't control those websites and aren't responsible for their content or privacy practices.

Donations

Donations help us keep programs free or low-cost for youth. [If you are a registered charity: Official tax receipts are issued for eligible donations under Canada Revenue Agency rules.] Donations are generally non-refundable, but please contact us if you believe a donation was made in error.

Limits of responsibility

We work hard to keep the website accurate and available, but we provide it “as is” and can't promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, Youth Connect Services is not responsible for indirect or unexpected losses that come from using the website or relying on its content.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under Ontario or Canadian law that can't be limited.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
